Historical Real Estate Indexing
The historical deed project involves the re-indexing of deeds prior to 1/1/1999 to meet the Indexing Standards for Real and Personal Property Records for the State of Georgia (Indexing Standards). Most of this re-indexing is performed by vendor personnel. This certification program has a pre-requisite that the vendor is using a certified indexing system, and it goes to the next level of certifying that the vendor personnel can index deeds in compliance with the Standards to a high level of accuracy.

As of July 2006, the Authority has completed six years of reindexing and imaging. All Counties in Georgia have Good From dates of 1/1/1993 or earlier. Work has begun to re-index and image the 1990, 1991 and 1992 deed records and the participating Counties and Vendors are listed at the following link.
