Information about House Bill HB1EX

House Bill 1EX, passed by the Georgia General Assembly during the May 2004 special legislative session, directs the Georgia Superior Court Clerks Cooperative Authority to implement a collection and accountability system for court fine and fee assessments.

The bill is a legislative mandate to regulate the collection and distribution of money collected by the court and criminal justice system. It provides penalties for failure to remit money or report collection totals.

New fines and fees became effective upon the Governor's signature.
